ABOUT ME

Claudia Bolanos Webpage Profile Pic.png

My name is Claudia Bolaños. I'm a multimedia content creator.

For  years I've held an ongoing interest in educational media.  As a child, I spent a lot of time playing educational computer games such as Reader Rabbit and The ClueFinders. Then in high school I took a course in AP Psychology. Psychologists closely follow ongoing issues in education, thus the AP Psychology course steered me towards becoming an educator. In the years that followed, I began working mainly with children: as a volunteer tutor, S.A.C.C. teacher, even a film instructor for teens with autism (see my resume for more details).

Then from 2016-2017 I spent a year at the UVA Curry School's Masters of Teaching Program. During that year my advisors introduced me to the world of instructional design.

Since 2011 I have also used several Adobe software programs (mainly Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator). What started as a childhood hobby making simple drawings and short videos, became an advantage with later jobs as a video producer and poster artist. In between these jobs, I also volunteered at public access TV stations and children's centers.

( As an aside -- my hobbies include cycling, cooking desserts, and making arts and crafts!)
