INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN DOCUMENT

The aim of this project was to collaborate with a partner on a written report, accounting our instructional design (ID) strategies and findings. To highlight the practical aspects of ID, each group conducted the study in their respective workplaces -- this was accomplished via observing daily workplaces and interviewing coworkers, whilst recording data based on those observations and interviews. At this time, I revised and reformatted our written document based on the partners' data gathered from their daily workplace.

This project best teaches the IBSTPI Competencies of: (a) effective visual and oral communication, (b) conducting needs assessments, (c) updating ID findings and strategies during lengthy procedures, and more.

DO DA VINCI LEARNING APP PROTOTYPE

The aim of this project was to create a learning design app targeting adult learning challenges. My target learning challenge was helping adults refresh prior knowledge for ongoing relevant use. For this example I chose helping adults refresh K-12 math principles, which is relevant if said adults are parents or schoolteachers. I created this prototype video using the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.

DO DA VINCI TSCLE PROTOTYPE

The aim of this project was to design a technology supported constructivist learning environment (TSCLE), based directly on an application of constructivism or the 5 meaningful learning characteristics. Our learning model of choice would determine the content area and target audience. The example here is based on the 5 meaningful learning characteristics, which are more suitable for teaching children. I created this prototype video using the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.

RESEARCH PROPOSAL

The aim of this cumulative project was to write a hypothetical research proposal. Based on our choice of either: (a) qualitative, (b) quantitative, or (c) mixed methods research, students would write their proposals segment by segment over the entire Spring 2019 semester. The topic was up to the writer. In this example my chosen topic was the link between bilingualism and technology savvy.

This project best teaches the IBSTPI Competencies of: (a) effective written communication, (b) applying data collection and analysis skills, (c) planning non-instructional interventions, and more.

CINECLASS APP PRESENTATION

The aim of this project was to realistically apply our knowledge of instructional design and adult learning, by brainstorming ideas for a new learning app for adults. I part we based the project on Kirkpatrick's 4 Levels of Training Evaluation.
My idea was CineClass: a hypothetical app that reinforces key principles of math, reading, etc. by simulating filmmaking processes such as green-lighting pitches (to teach critical reading skills), or video editing (to teach math).
